UPDATE – September, 25

As we continue to transition students back to in-person five-days a week we would like to give an update in the next phase of our Return to School Plan. The next phase is to bring back our middle and high school students, on the Hybrid Plan, back to the classroom Monday through Friday.

We look forward to welcoming students back to in-person five days a week. As we move forward, we will continue to follow all COVID-19 safety procedures currently in place. This includes temperature checks as students arrive at school, wearing masks while entering and exiting the school, changing classes, and in classrooms, as needed when social distancing is not possible.

High School Transition Plan

  • On Monday, September 28th, all hybrid high school seniors will return to school five days a week. We will monitor safety conditions in our school community and make any needed adjustments as we move forward.
  • On Monday, October 5th, all remaining high school students (9-11) on the Hybrid Plan will return to school in-person five days a week.

Middle School Transition Plan

  • On Monday, October 5th, middle school students (6-8) on the Hybrid Plan will return to school in-person five days a week.

Return To School Transition Plan

Dear HPA Families,

As we approach the one month point in the 2020-2021 school year, we would like to thank everyone for their support and adjusting to the new safety measures and protocols. We have had a great start to the year and are grateful to have students back in the classrooms.

After considering many factors, including input from our families and staff, we are moving forward with a gradual transition toward a five-day face-to-face model. While the results were mixed, many indicated they feel safe returning to a normal schedule, and others indicated they were more hesitant, our shared goal remains to bring back students full-time safely.

Elementary Transition Plan

On Monday, September 21st, 4th & 5th-grade hybrid students will return to school five days a week. 4th and 5th-grade students will utilize Community Classrooms. Students will remain with their class for the entire school day with teachers changing classes instead of students. Academic Art teachers will come to the classroom to give instruction. At times students will be able to eat lunches in the cafeteria and have time to be outside.

High School / Middle School Transition Plan

On Monday, September 28th, all hybrid high school seniors will return to school five days a week. We will monitor safety conditions in our school community and make any needed adjustments as we move forward.

These initial steps for transitioning back to in-person five days a week will allow us to return to school full-time gradually. As we move forward, we will continue to evaluate timelines for middle school hybrid students and remaining high school hybrid students to return to school full time. All safety procedures currently in place will continue, including temperature checks as students arrive at school, wearing masks while entering and exiting the school, changing classes, and in classrooms, as needed when social distancing is not possible.

We would ask for your continued support as we continue to meet students’ needs during these uncertain times. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s grade level principal with your concerns. They will be able to best help you.

All hybrid middle school students and 9th through 11th-graders will continue on the hybrid schedule. As we move forward, we will continue to evaluate timelines for these students to return to school in-person five days a week.
