Congratulations to junior wrestler Zane Van Vleet! He becomes the school’s first Spartanburg County Champion (170 lbs.)! He was also named Most Outstanding Wrestler (upper) during this weekend’s tournament. The team also had five wrestlers to place. Excellent job, Grizzly Wrestling.
Van Vleet Gets 100th Win

2019-2020 Season Kicks Off
The 2019-2020 wrestling season is underway. Come out and support these students athletes as they compete each week. Be sure and make plans to come out to our first-ever home wrestling match on Tuesday, December 17. Match time is 6:00 P.M. Go Grizzlies.
Varsity wrestlers Zane Van Vleet (160) and Jamin Stalnaker (170) both won Region I AA championships on Friday, January 25. They will move on to compete in the Upperstate playoffs on Saturday, Feb. 1 at Andrew Jackson HS in Kershaw. Congrats to these guys and good luck in the playoffs.
Middle School State Champion
Seventh-grader, Avery Wilson, won the 90lb. division of the Carolina Invitational Girls Middle School State Championship! Avery went 3-0 on the day. She is our first female wrestler to win a state title. Congratulations Avery!
The Grizzly Wrestling teams are preparing for a successful 2018-2019 season. Last year three Grizzly wrestlers qualified for state championships. Coaches and athletes have been preparing throughout the offseason. The varsity season will kickoff December 30th at the Southern Slam at Eastside High School. Go Grizzlies!
