The South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority (PEBA) helps ensure our employees have the option of a comprehensive plan that is responsive to their needs and is equitable to all stakeholders. Employees who qualify have the opportunity to participate.
High Point Academy employees may elect participation in the State Optional Retirement Plan (ORP) instead of becoming a member of the SCRS defined benefit retirement plan. The State ORP is a defined contribution retirement plan PEBA administers for employees. If you elect State ORP participation, you will select a service provider from four available companies with which PEBA contracts. A State ORP account will be set up for you with the service provider you select. You may elect participation in State ORP instead of becoming a member of the SCRS defined benefit retirement plan.
Employees also receive paid time off and free after-school care for school-age children.
