High Point Academy Families,
We appreciate your support and your patience as we prepare for this upcoming school year. We have put together our Return to School Plan that includes different models (traditional, hybrid, virtual). During the course of the year, HPA may implement different learning models as needed based on community health conditions. We ask that you are familiar with each, so you can be prepared to come back to school.
In order to better serve our students and for our teachers and staff to be fully prepared for the 2020-2021 school year we are adjusting the start date. The first day of school will be Monday, August 24. We have also made a few other changes to the school Academic Calendar for the 2020-2021 school year. You can view and download it by clicking here.
High Point Academy students in kindergarten through third-grade will return using the traditional 5 Day, Face to Face Model. We are able to offer full face to face to our youngest students based on enrollment numbers and physical space available for social distancing. Students in 4th through 12th-grades will return on a Hybrid Model. Students in 4th-12th will be split into an A Group and a B Group. The groups will alternate days attending school while utilizing virtual learning on days at home. We have detailed the hybrid models under each school through the attached information. This format will allow teachers to maximize instructional time and will allow us to work toward providing face-to-face instruction, five days a week. Click here to view and read the entire plan.
Elementary teacher assignments will be mailed home. Middle and high school students who are returning to HPA will be able to access schedules via Powerschool on August 12th. Students who are new to HPA will attend an in-person orientation to pick-up their schedules, Chromebooks, and IDs. The dates and times of the orientation will be communicated at a later date. This school year we will host virtual Meet-the-Teacher events the week of August 17th. A schedule for elementary, middle, and high schools will be emailed as the dates get closer.
We would ask for your continued support as we work to meet the needs of your students in these uncertain times. We look forward to another great year at High Point Academy. If you have questions, please contact your student’s grade level principal. They are listed below.
