High Point Academy | Spartanburg, ScThis summer, more than any other, keeping our kids reading is extremely important!! To help with this,  High Point Academy has developed reading programs for elementary and middle school students.

Elementary Reading Summer

For our Elementary Students (rising K-5th graders) will participate in the Read with Malcolm READCamp! This is a national program hosted by the Read with Malcolm Foundation. Malcolm Mitchell is a professional football player and children’s book author. You can find out more about Malcolm and his foundation here. To participate, please fill out the form by clicking here. Mrs. Huckaby will register all students so we have a school total! After your registration is complete, you will be sent a username and password along with the link to record your books this summer. From now until September 7, schools from around the country will be participating!!

Elementary Reading Assignment:

Middle School Reading Summer

For Middle School students, you are asked to choose a book, find one that interests you, and that you have not read before. Set a goal for how many books you want to read this summer and then read, read anything, anytime, anywhere! Students should then complete one activity from the choice board. Assignments from the summer are due on Friday, August 21st, and will count for an extra 100 quiz grade in ELA classes for the first nine weeks. Students who return their projects by August 21 will be entered into a drawing for several prizes. Students who turn in a Reading Log simply listing the books they read over the summer will receive additional entries in the drawing.
