November Middle School Teacher Spotlight

High Point Academy | Spartanburg, SCHigh Point Academy Spartanburg’s Middle School Teacher Spotlight for November hopes to mold her students to become life-long learners. Ms. Haley Morrison teaches seventh-grade social studies. This is her third year at HPA.

When you step into Ms. Morrison’s classroom, you’ll immediately notice the maps she has displayed for students to reference. “I want students exposed to the world around them. I also want them to be comfortable and feel at home. Once they walk in, I want them to know that I support them and want them to succeed,” Morrison said. “I think it is important to engage students as soon as they walk into my classroom. I like to joke and have a good time with them so that they can enjoy being at school and in a history classroom.” She hopes to help guide students, instill a love for history, and help students generate their own opinions as they ask questions.  “I want them to know that I support them and want them to succeed. I try to make it a very positive environment for my students.”

When she isn’t teaching, Ms. Morrison enjoys cheering on her Clemson Tigers, walking, and biking. In the summer, you can find her coaching a local swim team. Ms. Morrison is a tremendous asset to our middle school team.
