The Staff Spotlight for January is Career Specialist Beth Thomas. She also serves as Dual Enrollment Instructor for English 101 and 102. Mrs. Thomas joined High Point Academy Spartanburg in January of 2017 and works tirelessly to bring all she can to help students. Each school year she organizes programs and events like the career fair to connect and introduce students with as many businesses as possible. “I truly believe if companies and educators could come together, education would become something magical for all involved,” said Thomas.
Mrs. Thomas also facilitates the Explorer Club and the Shark Tank Summer Week. Thomas says, “I want my students to realize that I care about them and that I am invested in their success.” She received her Bachelors of Science degree from USC-Upstate and earned her Masters of Arts in English from Middlebury College in Ripton, Vermont.
In her spare time, she enjoys going to festivals gathering business cards to use for future events, devouring novels and chocolate daily, and spending time with her best friend- her husband and her son, a current HPA student.
