Mr. Sanders October’s Staff Spotlight

Our October Staff Spotlight is Director of Technology, Joe Sanders. Mr. Sanders is responsible for the direction, coordination, integration, and implementation of all technology needs across the school for students and staff.


Originally from Alabama, Mr. Sanders enlisted in the U.S. Army shortly after high school following the September 11th terrorist attacks. He spent ten years on active duty, stationed in North Carolina, Washington, and Germany working to maintain and repair radars that track mortars, artillery, rockets, and aircraft. During his time in the service, Mr. Sanders did two tours of duty in Iraq and one in Afghanistan. After leaving the military, he re-enrolled in college and completed his degree in Electronic Engineering from Thomas Edison State University.


Mr. Sanders wanted to find work that allowed him to serve others and make a difference while continuing to work in the technology field. Sanders says HPA was a perfect fit to accomplish those desires. It enables him to work with teachers and students and contribute to molding young minds. “I might not be in the classroom with them, but I can help to ensure that they have access to and training for technology that infuses with learning.” After nearly four years with the school, Sanders says, “I feel right at home here, and I’m proud as well as thankful, to play a role in the education of children.” He says he loves his job and looks forward to the challenges every day.
