UPDATE- October 11
We are extending the invitation to all HPA girls in grades K-12 and pushing back the date of the pageant to December 8th. We are also going to remove the talent portion. We have more information below. Join us for an informational meeting on Tuesday, October 16th. If you cannot make it or if you have any questions email Mrs. Painter.
All girls are invited to participate in the 2018 Miss HPA Pageant. It will be held on Saturday, December 8, at 6:00 P.M. in the P.A.C. There is a cost of $40 to participate for each contestant. The entry fee will cover the cost of an individualized t-shirt to wear during the group opening number, payment for judges, decorations, and a place in the Spartanburg Christmas parade for all winners. All contestants who are interested should complete a Registration Form and turn it into Mrs. Painter on or before Friday, October 26.
Each participant must be a full-time student at HPA. Pageants and titles will depend on the number of participants. The school Registrar must verify before the preliminaries that there are no out of school suspensions for the current school year. All meeting and rehearsal dates are mandatory (Nov. 16th, 30th, & Dec. 7th 3:30-5:00). All contestants should arrive by 5:00 P.M. on December 8. Contestants may only have one guest with them backstage. Doors for all other guests will open at 5:40 P.M. The pageant will start promptly at 6:00 P.M.
Formal gowns and talent attire for the pageant should be age appropriate and tasteful. Remember that you are representing High Point Academy and the community is invited to this event. If you are unsure, please see Mrs. Painter. Depending on the number of contestants, the top finalists will be announced who will each answer an interview question. (Given a week in advance). Crowns and sashes will be given to Little Miss HPA, First Runner-up, Second Runner-up, Junior Miss HPA, Miss 5th grade, 6th grade, 7th grade, and 8th grade, Miss High Point Academy, Miss Freshman, Miss Sophomore, Miss Junior, and Miss Senior. Recognition will also go to the top scoring evening gown and highest GPA. The participants will learn an opening number and will introduce themselves to the crowd.
