High Point Academy | Spartanburg, SCDear High Point Academy Family Members and Stakeholders,

The High Point Academy Board of Directors is currently seeking candidates for the board to fill one (1) vacant unexpired seat, which expires on June 30, 2019. High Point Academy is working with the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina (PCSASC) to administer this special election process. This ensures integrity and confidentiality in the process. Anyone who is interested can complete the online filing form here. Candidate filing will close on September 28, 2018, at 3:00 P.M. If a board candidate is not able to complete the online filing form, candidates may come to the school for assistance. All candidates should plan to attend a “Meet the Candidates” session on October 11 during the school’s Family Night.

High Point Academy Board Members are required to attend all board meetings and mandated Board Training. All board members are required by law to attend board training within one year of being elected. Free trainings will be offered across the state and online by the Public Charter School Alliance of South Carolina.

Per the South Carolina Charter Schools Act, as amended, boards are elected by the families of charter school students and employees of the school. If a family has multiple children enrolled at High Point Academy they will receive an e-ballot for each student. Please ensure the school has a current email address on file. Each ballot will have a unique code to ensure the confidentiality and integrity of the process. Computers and paper ballots will be available at the school during regular school hours for families with no internet access or with limited computer knowledge.

Thank you for your continued support of High Point Academy and South Carolina’s Charter Schools. If you have any questions during the process, please contact the Public Charter School Alliance at Elections@SCCharterSchools.org.
